Wedding Shoes - Quirky, fun, anything you want

Who says your shoes have to be white dyeable wedding shoes? Oh those wedding stores making bundles of money from those types of shoes, that's who! Pfffffftttt is what I say. I wore red patent leather platform shoes to my wedding. I had guests asking me to lift my dress up to take pictures of them all night. It was a novelty and fun. A deliberately quirky part of an elegant wedding.

What is important is getting the most bang for your buck. If you're determined to buy special shoes for your wedding, keep some important factors in mind.

New wedding shoes will have to be broken in before the wedding. If you wear brand new shoes on your wedding day, your feet are going to swell, sweat and hurt in the first half hour. Thats before you even get to the alter! Start wearing your shoes around the house before the wedding day. Do not wear the shoes outdoors as you may never know what you may step into (think rainy day or dogs).

New shoes are slippery on the bottom. Add some shoe stays or scuff the bottoms.

Bring your dress if you want your shoes to match. Not all whites are the same.

Wedding shoes do not have to be white, cloth, or match the material of your dress. Buy shoes that you will wear again. Most leather shoes can be cleaned easily or polished and worn again and again.

Cloth shoes can be embroidered, bejeweled and dyed.

Most importantly do not be afraid to be quirky and fun!
